A Match Night at Amritham Café

Image
Feb 5, 2026 Night Normally, we go for a night walk around 9:45-10:00 PM. Yes, you read that right, night walk. Some of my friends say we go just to watch girls. I don’t know why they think like that… but to be honest, I’ve never completely disagreed with them haha. Anyway, let’s leave that topic. This particular night, we were excited to watch a different kind of “girls”, the Girls of RCB in the WPL final. After the first innings ended, tension filled the air. Delhi had scored more than 200 runs, and RCB has a history of choking in such situations. Still, hope is something we RCB fans never lose. Maybe… they would chase it down. We started our walk right after the innings break and headed towards BEML Layout. By the time we reached near Al-Bek Restaurant, the second innings had begun. But walking and watching didn’t go together. We needed a bigger screen, something larger than a laptop, something that felt public, dramatic. And immediately, one place came to mind: Amritham Ca...

Happy Mother's Day

May 11, 2025 - Mother’s Day To be honest, I’ve never wished my mom on Mother’s Day, not even once in my life. Sometimes I feel like I should. Maybe give her a hug, hold her tight, and say something nice. That doesn’t mean I don’t love her. But, I know, I can’t. I’ve never been good with emotions. I always avoid them, even in movies and TV shows, and of course in real life. But when I involve in any emotional moment, I get overwhelmed. That’s the problem haha. You might be wondering why I am talking about emotions even though I don’t like to talk about it. It’s because of a small moment, I would say ‘cute moment’ that I saw on Mother’s day. It was a cold evening in Bangalore. I was at a café with a few friends, holding a glass of steaming ginger tea. As soon as I took a sip of it, the heat ran through my body, chasing away the cold. We were chatting about our holidays. A few had just returned to the city that day, asking questions about our new subjects and the semester ahead....

Cough: The Noise of Politeness

Image
I am the kind of person who hates noise, not all noise, only unnecessary noise. By unnecessary, I mean noise that I personally find disturbing. For example, making noise while eating or drinking, vehicle’s horn in traffic etc. You might be wondering why I am so particular about noise. Let me share a small experience that changed the way I look at it and made me rethink my perspective. After joining MCA, I really don’t know how time flew. The first internals arrived so quickly. We MCA studen ts were supposed to write our exams in the MBA block, where each bench can have two students, one each from MCA and MBA. In total, there were four rows of benches, and I was seated on the third bench in the first row, along with a guy from MBA. It was winter and winter in Bengaluru, of course, means students with health issues keep coughing. As I mentioned earlier, I don’t like unnecessary noise, and all this coughing kept irritating me. After sometime, at one moment, I heard a noise, a noise ...

Why Do We Think So Much?

Image
It was a Saturday evening. After having tea, my roommate and I were walking back through our college entrance. Just then, I noticed a young guy standing there. He had a big mark worn on his forehead, five books in his hands, and a heavy bag on his back, probably filled with more books. First, he called out to my friend. My friend ignored him and walked away. Then he looked at me and called me the same way. I couldn’t ignore him, so I went closer. He looked simple, humble, and young. He introduced himself as someone from ISKCON Bengaluru and began talking about the books he was holding. Then he handed me a small book, explained a bit about it, and said it costs 50 rupees. He never directly asked me to buy it, but his actions clearly did. You know, that was not the problem. The actual problem was “How can I say my account balance is 20 rupees” haha. So I smiled and said, “I forgot my wallet. I’ll buy it some other day.” He replied, “It’s not about the price. The fact that you’re listenin...
